HempCon open to all, ages 18 and above!

HempCon 2010, Southern California’s premiere Medical Marijuana showcase, is open to all adults!  We’ve received many questions over the last few days inquiring if a Medical Marijuana prescription will be required in order to gain entry into the event and the answer is no.

You do no need to have a Medical Marijuana recommendation in order to attend HempCon 2010, you need only be 18 years of age and have a valid state or federal issued ID.  For a number of reasons including State, Local and Federal law as well as the Los Angeles Convention Center’s strict no-smoking policy, there will be absolutely no smoking of any type (including Medical Marijuana) at the show.  This being said, anyone of legal age may attend the show and participate in the educational speakers, nightly entertainment or patronize any one of our exhibitors booths.

So grab your ID and get down to the Los Angeles Convention Center February 19-21 and come see what everyone is talking about.  HempCon 2010 is the best time you’ll have at a Medical Marijuana event all year, don’t miss it!

If there will be absolutely no smoking at the event, why can’t people under 18 attend?

  2. Rochelle Williams says:

I will be attending and would like to bring my son. His 18th bday is 2/23. Will they allow him to attend along with me?

because we are trying to get laws passed and some people are still very naive about cannabis. it’s not because “we” have a problem with it, society does and until we can pass the laws needed we need everyone to cooperate and continue to be smarter and more mature than our society of uneducated people… it’s not”fair” as my son would say, but it is law ….for now… patience my child..anything worth having is worth waiting(working) for

  4. Betsy says:

If this convention is for Medical Marijuana patients, why do you call the event HEMPcon?
MM patients don’t consume HEMP. They consume CANNABIS!

  5. Megs says:

I would think that people under 18 can’t attend because there may be some scantily clad women there, and we also don’t want anyone claiming that we are trying to market “dangerous illegal drugs” to kids. Come on now, that is pretty obvious isn’t it?

Just like a liquor store is open to anyone, you can’t drink alcohol in the store, that would be considered an open container! You could get a ticket for that!

Uhm think about it sweet heart…Can a 17 year old go into a smoke shop even though no one is smoking in there? You must be 18 to get your card, and you must be 18 to buy any accessories.

Does anyone know if there will be seeds available? Or maybe clones? i”ve never been to a hempcon and am curious if there is going to be actual legal advice for the grower. as the laws are very vague and extremely unclear as to really how much you can or cannot grow and what paper work you need to grow on a descent scale to provide for medicanal clinics as well as myself. thanx and really looking forward to the event.

Hempcon is the perfect place to bring your questions regarding growing and any vagueness you may be unclear about regarding Medical Marijuana legislation. Among our exhibitors will be legal experts giving advice.

i am just wondering, im 19 but my wallet was stolen like 2 weeks ago, is there any way i can get in?

  13. J.R. says:

What day is the best day to get the legal advice? Also I would like to know what time?? Is there a pamplet that could be downloaded online of the days and the time of events that are scheduled? I’m pretty sure people like myself are going for specific answers and we could use an outline of what is taking place daily so that way no one misses out on what they are wanting to hear.

  14. Joe says:

Valid ID is required for entry, but is there any record kept of who attends (at all) or is the ID simply used for entrance verification, like buying alcohol at the liquor store or getting inot a night club?

  15. krissy says:

hey what type of items are going to be for sale? are the doctors giving out prescriptions?
